As the outdoor season has finished, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank HPI racing for giving me the fantastic opportunity of running their electrics throughout 2011. Since joining the team back in March this year, my racing has gone from strength to strength, with the products helping me achieve my best ever results to date.
I first tried the new range of HPI Flux Pro motors during a club meeting at Broxtowe Model Car Club, where Ben Cosgrove from HPI was kind enough to give me a 6.5 to test in my 4WD. As soon as the car hit the track I was blown away with the speed, punch and smoothness of the motor, which was actually faster than the 5.5 I'd been using earlier on in the day. Needless to say I signed up on the spot and have never looked back. The electrics I've used are as follows: • HPI Flux Pro motors • HPI prototype brushless speed controller • HPI high torque servos • HPI Reactor 500 Charger The speed controller was sent to me to test out at a Worksop meeting where many top drivers were in attendance. Just like the motors I was taken back at how smooth the HPI speedo delivered the power to the motor. Whenever I changed any settings on my old ESC I could never really tell any difference in feel, but this was not the case with the HPI ESC! The punch, top speed and breaks were very sensitive to adjustment but in a really good way. This has enabled me to fine tune my settings on a variety of tracks and track conditions, giving an advantage over other competitors. At the Worksop meeting I managed to finish 2nd in the A-main on my first time out with the Speedo. With me now having tested the full electrics package all together I felt full of confidence going into the start of the outdoor season. My list of achievements is as follows: • Worksop 2WD Indoor Series, 1st • Worksop 4WD Indoor Series 2nd • Chadderton 2WD Indoor Series 1st • Chadderton 4WD Indoor Series 1st • North East 2WD Regional Series 1st • North East 4WD Regional Series 1st • BRCA 2WD National Series 10th • BRCA 4WD National Series 7th • Oople 2WD International 2nd • Oople 4Wd International 5th • dBoots GP 2DW 1st • dBoots GP 4DW 1st • Autumn Cup 2WD 1st • Autumn Cup 4WD 1st I feel all of these results would not have been possible without the help and support of HPI in delivering such excellent products to power my 1/10th off road buggies. The reliability/functionality of the motors, speedo and servos are second to none, and I would seriously recommend them to anyone looking for the elite in their electrics. I'm already looking forward to the indoor season and running HPI's exciting products!
