Making the cut to the exclusive line-up of HPI precision cast models isn't easy, however we are very proud to announce two new amazing additions to the HPI die-cast range of model cars: the amazing Nissan GT-R and the exquisite Orochi Mitsuoka! Both of these models are extremely limited in production numbers because of the special high-detail resin used for the moulds. The actual paint colour used in production are used on the models. The precision and quality of these models means that worldwide quantities will be in the low hundreds, so they will be extremely rare.
The Nissan Skyline models have always showcased the latest driving technologies that Nissan engineers could fit into a road-going car, and the GT-R continues this tradition, with a twin-turbocharged 3.8 litre V6, four-wheel drive, rear-mounted transmission, a top speed over 310kph (193mph) and 0-60mph time under 3.8 seconds. As proof of its supercar status, Nissan engineers and drivers in May 2008 set a lap time of 7 minutes 29 seconds on the famed Nurburgring - just one second slower than a 400,000 Euro Porsche Carrera GT. The extremely rare Orochi Mitsuoka was first released in 2001 at the Tokyo Motor Show, the production version rolled off the assembly line in 2006. Taking its name from a mythical 8-headed dragon of ancient Japanese legend, this one of the most rare and desired exotic cars in the world, with only about 400 cars made each year. The Orochi cars feature the most uniquely crafted modern cars available, using HPI precision die-cast metal models are 1/43 scale, a convenient size for any desk or display case. Incredible attention has been paid to make the shape of cars as true to scale as possible. Fine exterior details like radiators, disc brakes, brake calipers, mirrors, wings, exhaust, headlights, mirrors, tow hooks and radio antennae combine to make the models extremely realistic. Each car has a fully painted and detailed interior, steering wheel, and dashboard. These models come mounted to a display platform that includes a clear plastic protective case and the car can be easily removed from the platform for individual display.
