This year 1/8 buggy Euro's will be in Sacile, Italy. Track and
facility is very nice and its placed next to the alps so view is
nice as well. From HB HPI racing we had David Ronnefalk, Reno
Savoya and me attending for this race.
Practice was on friday and saturday half day so we had many
practice rounds as there was not that many entries this year at
warm up. Even there was not as many entries as past years most of
the top drivers were there and all fast local guys as track is one
of the drivers backyard!
Q1: David was able to make TQ, Reno also in top 10 and I was in
top 10 run, but my receiver battery died at that run.
Q2: I use everything like in Q1 and was able to make top 10 run
with two small mistakes.
Q3: I had bad run as way too many mistakes.
Q4: Was an okay run for me until I hit too much traffic.
For the Finals, David and Reno were in semi and I was in 1/4
final. My 1/4 final start was not great as I lost a lot of time,
but I was able to work my way up and bump up to the semi. I knew my
set up was not good for track conditions as track got blowout
pretty bad so I made few changes in my car for semi. Before my semi
was David's and Reno's semi and they both had bad luck in their
semi and could bump up. In semi I got horrible start as my car
flamed out at the starting line and I lost 15sec on that. All the
set up changes were good though and my lap times improve
almost one sec and my runtime was little over 10min so there
was also chance to make one fuel stop less. Made my fuel stop 9.30
as thought I could bump up with two stops and didn't want to risk
my chances. After 15min I was running 4th, but with some bad luck
with my last fuel stop I was not able to bump up and finished 7th
in semi.
On Monday and half the day Tuesday, we stayed at the track and did some testing. After all the test I look forward to Euro's as I think found good settings for this extreme rough and high bite track.
